Roman Nights
The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and more...
This is an early evening walk before dinner, and is a centuries old tradition that is still a part of life in many small towns and cities throughout Italy today.
We have adapted this lifestyle into a tour, with a relaxing stroll through Rome's historic quarter, showing off the city's world famous fountains, quaint side streets and piazzas, away from the heavy traffic.
Experience the sights, smells, and sounds of every day life while taking in Rome's more important historic landmarks. A city made of marble and water, Rome is filled with famous fountains that are best experienced at night when they are illuminated and pour this shimmering blue light into the open air piazzas. These charming cafe-lined piazzas are not only full of history, they are alive with conversation and cuisine, like a living museum.
At the end of the walk, your appetite will be looking for satisfaction, and our staff will be happy to point you in the direction of a favorite Gelatoria (ice cream shop,) Hosteria (family restaurant,) or a romantic rooftop terrace.
Sites we'll visit on this walk:
Vittorio Emmanuelle Monument: More then just a "Wedding Cake"
Piazza Venezia: From the Medici's to Mussolini.
Piazza Navona: Where artists and street performers converge under Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers.
Area Sacra Argentina: Ancient ruins and a famous cat sanctuary.
Trevi Fountain: See Fellini's "La Dolce Vita," before you plunge into this oasis. Campo di Fiori: Once the piazza of public executions.
Piazza Farnese: More work by Michelangelo.
Pantheon: An architectural wonder of the ancient world.
